Maryland Elite Lacrosse Club
|
Maryland Elite Lacrosse Club (MELC) has been established with the purpose of providing the absolute best travel/club lacrosse experience possible by providing superior coaching and position training for players, participating in top tier competitive leagues and tournaments, and building a program with a strong emphasis on teamwork and personal accountability. These goals are to be accomplished while also offering affordable participation costs for families.
Maryland Elite Lacrosse Club is committed to becoming the premier lacrosse organization in Maryland. The dedicated volunteers who have formed this club have all served, or are serving, as coaches, coordinators, or participants in club, high school and college lacrosse programs. We understand what is needed to build an elite program. MELC is currently undergoing the process of becoming a recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. As a not-for- profit organization, we will strive to provide the best resources possible for the boys’ lacrosse development, while investing travel and club proceeds directly into the program.
Tom Gravante, Head Coach of Mount St. Mary’s Men’s Lacrosse, serves as our Director of Coaches. As the Director and Men's Head Coach at Mount St. Mary's University (1993-present), Coach Gravante was named the 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003, and 2010 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Coach of the Year. He was also named the 2010 Northeast Conference (NEC) Coach of the Year. The Maryland Elite Lacrosse Club is honored to be associated with Coach Gravante and his program. MELC is committed to providing specialized “position” training throughout the 2012 travel and club season. We believe in combining excellent coaching with strong specialized skill training to reach maximum development.
